Storage tips to save space in your wardrobe

Everybody is different when it comes to organising and tidying up spaces. A technique that works for one person does not necessarily work for another. If your wardrobe is a mess because you've long since given up on the idea of a decent dressing room, know that in this article, we will provide you with solutions that can improve your everyday life.

Vertical storage

This technique is perfect for storing socks, jeans and t-shirts. It consists in folding your clothes into rectangles to keep them straight so that you can save you space. It also helps to avoid piles or stacks of clothes that are almost messy all the time. Storing them vertically also gives you a much better view of what you have.

Boxes are shelves' best friends

Drawers are ideal for implementing vertical storage in wardrobes. But if you have a dressing room, a spacious wardrobe or a closet with shelves, boxes are necessary to keep your clothes straight. You don't have to buy expensive boxes, you can use home improvement stores that come in all sizes. For shelves, you can use a storage box with small wheels, but there are also fabric ones for a soft roll. The best option is the shoe boxes one.

Storage of towels and sheets

Towels and bedsheets are the fabrics that usually take up the most space in the wardrobe, especially if you don't have a lot of room. As for sheets, we advise against ironing your set, even though it might save you some space because it takes time. We recommend instead that you dry it with the tumble dryer and put it away once it has dried so that your sheets are as wrinkle-free as possible. The trick to putting them away is to fold them so that the flat sheet and duvet cover or fitted sheet can fit into the pillowcase. In this way, each piece of the set is joined together and the sets can be stacked without any problems. For towels, simply fold in half or thirds lengthwise, depending on the size of the towel, and then slide them in.
